Too Cool Organizing Tips

I need to turn over a new leaf.  A new leaf of less is more.  A leaf of more clear, open spaces and less clutter.  It’s so easy for “stuff” to accumulate, on our desks, countertops or entry tables.  One of my “improve upon me” goals for this year is to be better organized - - and better about keeping work spaces separate from living spaces.

There are so many storage and organizing solutions on the market today.  These easy solutions from are all affordable options for keeping everything we need to get to handy, but under control. Here, think off and up. This wall-hung system would be great for keeping papers up off the desk, with compartments for easy labeling and hooks for hanging keys so you can grab and go.

Here’s a creative idea  - -  this dish drying rack is also a great idea for stacking folders and notebooks, bills or envelopes.  The divided section intended for silverware holds pens and pencils and small office supplies.

Here’s something you might not think to use for organizing a desk drawer. In shallow drawers, quarter sheet baking pans slide right in and catch all the clutter.  How easy, and inexpensive, is this?

I wouldn’t have thought to use the side of a desk for storage.  Towel racks attached to the side and hung with color-coded file folders add some much needed organizing space.  They added grommets to the tops of each file folder then hung them with a simple “S” hook.  Towel racks aren’t just for the bathroom anymore.

I also found this unique, very cool, wall organizer on Pottery Barn.  It’s an entire organizing system that lets you pin up cards, calendars, or write notes on a magnetic chalkboard.  Here’s one piece - - a divided Activity Center with a burlap covered backing. Cubbies provide spaces for organizing accessories or for displaying decorating items as well.

The chalkboard section has a magnetic surface for notes and photos, and includes chalk and an eraser.

The burlap-covered pin board design was re-created from vintage postmarks.

And I do love this simple magazine rack.

All of these items must be very in demand, since most all of them are currently on back-order on the PB website.  But worth waiting for, don't you think? Link here to see more pieces to this unique storage system.

How are you organizing around your house as we start a whole new year?  :)

  2. Those are some great solutions ~ always stylish options from PB! My goal this year is to make my organizing look a little cuter and not always so utilitarian! Lol!
